PUBLIC SPEAKING
One of the most common fears that people have is the fear of speaking in public. Why? It may be because we’re afraid of being embarrassed.
Making simple presentations can leave ordinarily confident people with butterflies in their stomach and their legs feeling weak and unstable. The mind can become confused, the hands shake, the voice quivers, and sometimes we break out in a sweat. As a consequence of this misery, we’re usually not able to convey the message that we had wanted to.
This is an issue I help clients with on a regular basis. I probably see more professionals about eliminating the fear and anxiety associated with public speaking than other hypnotists in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. In fact, I specialize in this issue, and I enjoy it immensely.
Perhaps, it’s the experience and insights I’ve gained from many years of performing to a live audience daily on major market radio as a disc jockey in cities such as Phoenix, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, and Dallas. In fact, I still write and record a daily entertainment feature about interesting American people, places, and things on American Forces Radio (formerly known as Armed Forces Radio).
When it comes to fear of performing in front of a live audience, believe me, I have felt your pain. Using the tool of hypnosis, and with you and me working together, we can usually eliminate this unpleasant fear of public speaking or performing.
I often see corporate executives, professionals, and academics of all kinds who, although talented in their own area of expertise, are uncomfortable talking in front of a live audience. It can be as formal as a new client presentation or as casual as the Best Man’s speech at a wedding. Hypnosis is a tool that can help you build confidence so you can be calm and relaxed and do a good job speaking to any audience.
Wouldn't it be great if, instead of becoming weak in the knees, you could learn to actually enjoy giving speeches and presentations?
When we learn to overcome illogical and embarrassing old fears and become confident and competent, then other things in our life also become possible. Making this one change can sometimes alter the way you think about yourself, the kind of jobs you apply for, and your skills in other areas of your life.
